After about ten days in the Yosemite Valley John Muir continued his trip, hiking up to Wawona, then known as Clark's Station, to see the Mariposa Grove of big trees. Sadly, after only two or three days in the Valley, our worldly duties called and Donna and I returned home to Santa Cruz. When we conceived the trip, we imagined it would end in Yosemite, but now we want to follow Muir to the end of his 1868 trip. We have started to plan our route, up the old road to Wawona, down the Chowchilla Mountian Road to Mariposa and then to Snelling. But that will be a trip for another year.
