Upcoming and Past Conferences, Symposia, and Special Events Celebrating John Muir
Several universities and other organizations have sponsored conferences about John Muir and his legacy today.
The University of the Pacific in Stockton, California has been the major institution offering these symposia. But others like the University of California, the National Park Service, the U.S. Mint, the U.S. Postal Service, and others have offered conferences and specialevents focused on Muir as well.

- National Park Service Centennial $5 Dollar Commemorative Coin (2016) – Including Unveiling Ceremony at the U.S. Department of the Interior.
- Elis Island National Monument – Special Exhibit Celebrates John Muir and the National Park Service Centennial – April 6, 2016 – September 5, 2016. This exhibit reprises the Clan Currie Society’s exhibition it produced in 2005 about John Muir at Ellis Island, to celebrate the Centennial of the National Park Service. The program opened to the public on Wednesday, April 6 (Tartan Day) and will run through Labor Day, 2016.

- Mountain Days – The John Muir Musical – The exciting life story of John Muir has been made into a wonderful Broadway-style musical. Mountain Days depicts Muir’s passionate quest to explore and preserve the natural beauty of America, as well as his loving devotion to his wife Louie.
